Chassis ground refers to the electrical connection between a circuit's reference ground and the physical metal chassis or enclosure. It serves as a common return path and provides shielding against electromagnetic interference. In rack mount systems, the metal chassis body — typically aluminum or stainless steel — acts as the chassis ground when properly bonded to system earth ground.

An electronic cabinet is a larger enclosed housing designed to rack-mount or free-stand multiple electronic assemblies, modules, or chassis units. It provides environmental protection, cable management, and structural support for complete system integration. Ron Nunes Enterprises' rack chassis systems are designed for integration into standard 19-inch rack cabinets, complying with EIA-310d specifications.

Ron Nunes Enterprises offers rack mount chassis from 1U through 9U in height. Additional non-standard heights of 17.5", 19.25", and 21" are also available. Depth options include 8", 12", 14", 20", and 26 inches, with custom depths available upon request to accommodate unique application requirements.

The chassis are fabricated from aluminum sheet (Alloy 6061-T6, 0.125" thick) conforming to QQ-A-250/11 and ASTM B209 standards. Stainless steel options are also available. Standard finish is Chemical Film per MIL-C-5541E Type 1 Class 3 (Gold), with handles anodized per MIL-A-8625E Class 2 Type 2 in black.

Standard chassis systems are typically provided unassembled, with all necessary hardware included for field assembly. Fully assembled systems are available upon request. Assembly is performed by Class A/XX certified welders and assemblers.
