2U Rackmount Chassis

A 2U chassis is a metal enclosure that is 3.5 inches tall and designed to fit inside a standard 19-inch equipment rack. It typically includes a front panel, rear panel, side brackets, covers, and mounting hardware. 2U chassis are used for electronics packaging in defense, telecom, data centers, and industrial applications.

A 2U chassis is 3.5 inches (88.9 mm) tall. This measurement follows the EIA-310d standard, where one rack unit (1U) equals 1.75 inches. Ron Nunes chassis systems conform to EIA-310d, ensuring compatibility with all standard 19-inch rack enclosures used in commercial, industrial, and military installations.

Ron Nunes 2U rackmount chassis are available in depths of 8, 12, 14, 20, and 26 inches. Custom depths are also available upon request, allowing engineers to accommodate varying internal component layouts and enclosure space requirements across defense, telecom, and industrial applications.

Chassis panels are fabricated from 0.125-inch aluminum sheet, Alloy 6061-T6, per QQ-A-250/11 and ASTM B209. Stainless steel options in 14/16 gauge are also available. Standard finish is Chemical Film per MIL-C-5541E, Type 1, Class 3. Handles use Alloy 6061-T5 aluminum with a black anodized finish per MIL-A-8625E.
