2U Rack Mount Enclosures — Aluminum Chassis

The primary chassis material is 0.125-inch thick aluminum sheet, Alloy 6061-T6, per federal specification QQ-A-250/11 and ASTM B209. Handles use extruded aluminum Alloy 6061-T5, and accessories such as angle brackets use Alloy 5052-H32, all selected for strength-to-weight ratio and machinability.

The standard finish is Chemical Film per MIL-C-5541E, Type 1, Class 3 (gold). Handle hardware receives a black anodize finish per MIL-A-8625E, Class 2, Type 2. A flat grey painted front panel finish per LLNL Specification LED 67-9092 is also available for laboratory and government applications.

Ron Nunes offers depths of 8, 14, 20, and 26 inches as standard options. Custom depths are available upon request to accommodate non-standard equipment or specific installation constraints in mobile, field, or fixed-rack deployments.

Chassis systems are shipped unassembled as standard, including all required components — front panel, rear panel, two side brackets, two covers, handles, and fastening hardware. Fully assembled systems are available upon request, with assembly performed by Class A/XX certified welders and assemblers.
